In July 2023, EA will begin a new era with the introduction of the EA Sports FC series.

This year’s instalment promises to be the most complete edition of the series to date with a greater emphasis on women’s football and further development in the gameplay to create the most authentic football gaming experience.

Since FIFA 16, female footballers have been included on FIFA, however it has only ever included a small selection of international teams.

At the launch of FIFA 23 it was confirmed that the FA Women’s Super League and the French Division 1 Féminine would both be added to the game.

With the increasing popularity of the women’s game and the further focus generated from the European Championships 2022, it is expected that it won’t be long before further updates are made to include more playable women’s leagues.

FIFA 23 producer, Matt Lafreniere has said: “We’re committed to building an equitable experience and aspire to help grow women’s football.”

HyperMotion is set to receive a huge update in the latest instalment of FIFA known as HyperMotion 2.

HyperMotion is designed to capture footage from a professional football game. The advanced 11v11 match capture helps with EA’s machine learning algorithm which is used to create a more realistic in-game experience.

The developments to hypermotion technology mean that the game will feature more than 6000 authentic animations.

New developments in the technology mean that we can expect to see improvements in shooting animations in FIFA 23 and more realism in the way that goalkeepers react to in-game scenarios.
