Gran’s £14.99 Facebook fake teeth nightmare as ‘cheap plastic’ dentures look like Haribo sweets
A grandmother who splashed out £14.99 on Facebook dentures hoping to transform her smile was left horrified when the “cheap plastic” teeth arrived.
A GRAN desperate to get her smile back claims she was left with a mouthful of misery after buying £14.99 dentures from Facebook.

Karen Soper, 58, had hoped to finally feel confident about her teeth after losing all of them to gum disease around 20 years ago.
But the retired carer says her bargain buy turned into a nightmare when the dentures arrived — branding the artificial gnashers “solid, cheap plastic” and claiming they looked more like Haribo sweets than real teeth.
The mum-of-three, from Neath, Neath Port Talbot, Wales, spotted a Facebook advert promising “simple at-home moldable dentures” designed to help customers “smile confidently again”.

The advert featured people apparently tucking into apples and chomping on corn on the cob while wearing the dentures.
Impressed by what she saw, Karen decided to give them a go and ordered the £14.99 teeth.
But when the package landed on Monday, June 1, she claims the reality was very different.
Karen said the dentures were made from rigid plastic and were impossible to keep in place, repeatedly falling straight out of her mouth when she tried to wear them.
She said: “I thought they looked absolutely brilliant. The people wearing them were eating an apple and crunching on a corn on the cob, but the teeth that came looked nothing like them.
“It was just solid plastic. You can't even fit them in your mouth, they're just solid, cheap plastic.”
And her verdict on the appearance was even more brutal.
Karen said: “It looks exactly like the teeth sweets you can buy, the Haribo sweets teeth look nicer.”
She said she had previously bought items through Facebook without problems but wanted to warn others after losing her money.
Karen explained that she had been wearing dentures for years but struggled because they repeatedly came loose, leaving her self-conscious about her smile.
Unable to afford professional treatment, she had hoped the cheap online option could provide an answer.
Instead, she says she was left feeling cheated.
Karen added: “Someone's making an absolute fortune because these teeth look like they cost 20p.
“I just want to tell people not to get stung as well.”
