In 2020, Teresa Bright also received the Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts Lifetime Achievement Award. Teresa Bright is from the Windward side of Oahu in Hawaii and attended the University of Hawaii.
Many fans and former colleagues and friends of Teresa Bright have taken to social media to share tributes. One fan said: “Saddened to hear of the passing of a friend, I met her in the 1970s and although we rarely saw each other, whenever we did, it was like no time had passed. She is rightly noted for her smooth voice and musical talent, but she also had a passion for photography and took great photos. Her love for the people in her life and for Hawaii will never be forgotten.”

Teresa Bright launched her music career in the 1980s as one half of "Steve and Teresa" alongside Steve Mai`i. In 1990, she released her first solo album.
Hawaii News reported that “Bright’s “Self-Portrait” album in 1990 was her first as a solo artist, which won her six Na Hoku Hanohano Awards — five for Bright and one for Kata Maduli as a producer.”
“Her 2007 release “Hawaiinawa” featured popular Okinawan songs with lyrics translated into ‘Olelo Hawaii.”
Vocalist Teresa Bright was not only popular in Hawaii but in Japan too and worked with the likes of Japanese businesses such as Toyota, Japan Airlines and Sapporo Beer.
