Amanda Abbington has reportedly quit Strictly Come Dancing and did not perform in last week’s show

Sherlock star Amanda Abbington has reportedly quit Strictly Come Dancing after missing last week’s show due to medical reasons. On the show ‘It Takes Two’ last Friday the host Janette Manrara shared the news that “Unfortunately due to medical reasons, Amanda will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.”

Following the announcement last week that she would not be performing in Strictly Come Dancing, Amanda reshared a photo and quote from the late actor Robin Williams that said: “People don't fake depression.. They fake being okay. Remember that. Be kind.”

On the 15th October 2023, Amanda shared a post on her Instagram where she thanked everyone for their support. She said: “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR LOVE, KINDNESS AND SUPPORT. It truly means the world to read all your beautiful and heartfelt messages! Honestly. I’m very humbled by it all. You’re all so bloody LULLY!!! See you next week when we cha-cha-charge into Saturday (I’m sorry. Please vote for us). @giovannipernice thank you! Ya beauty.”

According to the Daily Mail, a Strictly Insider told them “It has been a devastating time for Amanda. Her Strictly journey has been plagued by difficulties but she just dind;t think there was any other option. As hard as it has been, there was a chance they could have won.”
