Tributes have been paid to a teenager who died when the car she was travelling in crashed into a tree
A “devastated” family has paid tribute to a 19-year-old woman who died when the car she was travelling in crashed into a tree.
Lana Maddison, 19, was the passenger in a black Ford Fiesta which crashed on Sunday, November 28.
She was rushed to hospital where she was in a critical condition but tragically died five days later on Friday, December 3, as a result of her injuries.
Cumbria Police released a photograph of Lana yesterday (December 6) as she was officially named for the first time following the crash.
Family’s tribute to ‘beautiful daughter’
The force also released a statement from her heartbroken family, which read: “Our family are absolutely devastated at the loss of our beautiful daughter.”
Police said Lana was the passenger in the vehicle which crashed at around 8:40pm on the A591 near Keswick, Cumbria.
Two other occupants, a 22-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, sustained minor injuries in the crash, the force said at the time.
Police probing the crash have appealed for witnesses to submit dashcam footage before the incident.
