Leona Lewis gave birth to her baby girl Carmel Allegra on 22 July 2022, but waited until 2 August to share a photo of the newborn wrapped up in her arms on Instagram.

The singer has now returned to the social media platform to update her fans on Carmel’s progress.

Leona posted three photos with the caption “A month with you my love.”

The first is a photo of Leona herself with Carmel wrapped tightly on her chest - the singer is smiling and the baby is sleeping.

The second photo shows a tiny hand gripping Leona’s finger and the third is a snap of Carmel laid in a cot with a mobile covering her face.

The post has received over 16,000 likes and lots of well wishes from friends and fans.

Actress Rhea Bailey wrote: “Oh my heart, sweet precious babe xox.”

Carmel is Leona’s first child with husband Dennis Jauch.

Dennis is a backing dancer who met Leona after her time on The X Factor, which she won in 2006.

The couple started dating in 2010 and got married in 2019 - they had a huge wedding in Tuscany.
