The latest transfer news from the Premier League, including updates from Man Utd, Liverpool and more

Erik ten Hag’s future as Manchester United manager remains in great doubt as he prepares his team for a crucial FA Cup final against rivals Manchester City. Ten Hag recently led the Red Devils to their lowest ever league finish of the Premier League era, and their worst overall season since 1990 in the early years of Alex Ferguson’s tenure as manager.

The importance of the FA Cup final for Ten Hag and Manchester United cannot be understated and not only is it a chance of silverware, it is also their last resort at gaining a place in Europe after a huge underwhelming league campaign. Victory in the cup was enough to help Ferguson keep his job when the chips were down 34 years ago, but it wasn’t enough for his Dutch counterpart Louis Van Gaal in 2016 when he was replaced by Jose Mourinho.

Reports from many news outlets, including the Guardian, suspect that time may be up for Ten Hag regardless of Manchester United’s result on Saturday. The outlet also believes that former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is the leading candidate for the role at Old Trafford and has already ‘held talks’ with the club following his exit from Bayern Munich.

Manchester Evening News, meanwhile, believes the Red Devils will turn their attention to in-demand Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna. The 38-year-old is a boyhood fan of Manchester United and is familiar with the structure of the club, having worked as U18 coach and assistant manager under Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Liverpool want 20 goal Leeds United star

Liverpool will turn their attention away from £100m rated Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon due to his hefty price tag and will instead turn their attention to Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville, according to 90min.com.

The outlet claims that Liverpool’s new manager Arne Slot is a big fan of the Dutch winger after a sensational 21-goal season for the Whites last term.

Reports claim that a deal is particularly likely if Leeds are beaten by Southampton in the play-off final, adding that the 22-year-old is keen to challenge himself in the Premier League.

Mail Sport reporter Craig Hope has previously claimed that Leeds will need to raise around £100m in player sales if they don’t win promotion and Summerville’s performances are likely to make him the club’s most expensive asset in the summer.
