Love Island favourite Olivia Bowen has caused concern among her fans by sharing a hospital bed selfie - but hasn’t said exactly what’s caused her to need medical treatment.

The reality star took to her Instagram Stories earlier today (October 16), to tell her three million followers that she had had surgery, but didn’t give the precise nature of it.

Alongside her hospital bed selfie, she wrote: "I may be a wee bit quiet on my socials over the next week or so. I had minor surgery (not cosmetic). I'm absolutely fine so please don't worry about me, I know what you guys are like you're so kind. It's no drama but I'm just not ready to talk about it. xxxx"

In another follow-up Instagram Story, the 30-year-old star said that she's now recovering at home in bed but she’s feeling bored. She wrote: "I can't deal with sitting here today, I'm so bored already. I've just made three clothes orders on Zara, Anthropologie and Asos. Talk about retail therapy.” She also posted three laughing face emojis.

Bowen rose to fame after appearing on the 2016 series of Love Island, where she met her now husband Alex Bowen. The couple got married in 2018 and welcomed their son Abel in June 2022. The pair are one of only a few successful couples who are still together after meeting on the ITV 2 dating show.

In a recent post on Instagram praising her son, Bowen wrote: “You’ve made me a better me. I never thought I would be able to combine ME and MUM, but you’ve shown me how. That first year is HARD. The way I lost myself honestly thinking back now is crazy, so weird that I took my nose ring out because I thought I wasn’t allowed it when I became a Mum?

“It gets better, sometimes worse, then better then really good then it can be bad. Emotions are there to be felt, don’t shy away from them. We all have them. We can all benefit from sharing them. Please look after yourselves & others. Abel has brought out so much in me that scared me, but so much that I love & always wished I could be. I will be forever grateful for you.”
