The return of 'I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of here' for 2023 has arrived, with Ant and Dec set to join viewers from near the Springbrook National Park, near Murwillumbah, New South Wales. This year's contestants include Nigel Farage, Britney Spears' younger sister Jamie-Lynn Spears, Josie Gibson and Fred Siriex to name just a mere few campmates this year.

NationalWorld is live blogging the first episode, including what the campmates have been up to since arriving in the jungle. Since we've returned

We've just seen the trio of Nigel, Nella and Josie stick their head inside an abandoned bus with snakes. Nigel, Marina points out, was incredibly calm. Looks like when he said he was used to snake in his intro roll he wasn't kidding.

Back on the top of the building, the pairs have to go down the building to collect stars. Out of a possible 9 minutes, the Triple Threat have earned them six.

They are going to be 100 metres above the ground, Ant reminds them. No pressure.

"Would not to be Sam, Grace, Fred and Danielle right now..."

"OMG - Fred, what are you going to do about your suit???? Fred and Danielle, perfectly coordinated"

Cheeky advert break

Ah, I see that 'I'm A Celeb' adopts the 'Fear Factory' method of going to an advert break just as someone yells before undergoing a task. A trope as old as time - as we go into another advert break.

And another article - this time a look at some of your other contestants this year:

Danielle and Fred start their walk

So they've made it down, and Danielle seems to have it together a little more than Fred. They both need to slide down to the next level - a pole jutting out from the building.

My palms are getting sweaty watching this - how about yours, Marina?

Looks like Marina's rivited with I'm A Celeb

No response to my question about sweaty palms. Just a one-word sentence: "completely."

Danielle and Fred shimmy out to collect the stars as Danielle has 30 seconds left to get hers.

Danielle and Fred earn two stars for the campmates! The pair get pulled up to the top, as Danielle has a mix of confusion and adrenaline pumping through her system. She didn't even know if she completed the ask, asking Ant and Dec "did I get a star?"

Fred complains about the tightness around his 'crown jewels,' as Dec calls them, while he tells the other pair that three minutes is the ideal amount of time.

Sadly, it's gotten windier and rainier. Of course it has.

While Sam Thompson is huffing and puffing, Grace Dent is leading the charge in this challenge, giving Sam orders to keep him calm.

So who is Grace Dent? Find out a little more if you're getting vertigo from this challenge.

Marina's thoughts: the building challenge

"Sam Thompson, poor Sam. He didn't know he was scared of heights.... Oh dear oh dear..."

Marina does seem to think Danielle Harold is going to do well in this series though already.

A measure of how things are in the public consciousness, what are people saying on Twitter as we head into another advert break?

Enter: Marvin Humes

Here comes one of the favourites for the series, JLS member Marin Humes. He tells us he always wanted to go into the jungle, despite the idea being crazy. He also admits he is scared of heights - telling us how he was meant to go skydiving but was too scared in the end.

Good job he wasn't on that helicopter ride then and that task.
