The Holiday, a new drama from Channel 5, will begin on Tuesday 1 March. It’s set to continue nightly, airing four episodes through to Friday 4 March.

The four-part drama is an adaptation of TM Logan’s bestselling novel of the same name.

What is it about?

The Holiday is about a group of four women who go on holiday together in the south of France. It emerges that one of them has been having an affair with another’s partner – but it quickly becomes clear that there are some secrets people are willing to kill to keep.

Who is in the cast?

Jill Halfpenny stars as Kate, who discovers her husband is having an affair with one of her friends. You’ll recognise Halfpenny from soaps like Coronation Street, EastEnders and Waterloo Road, as well as In the Club and The Drowning.

Owen McDonnell plays cheating husband Sean. McDonnell has previously appeared in The Bay, where he plays Frank Mercer, and Killing Eve, where he plays Eve’s husband Niko.

They’re joined by Liv Mjones (Kyss Mig), Siobhan Hewlett (McDonald & Dodds), Aidan McArdle (The Fall) and Andrew Macklin (Doctor Who) as the rest of their friend group, and Lara McDonnell (Belfast) and Aidan McCann (Britain’s Got Talent) as the couple’s children.

The series has been written by Michael Crompton, who previously worked on Silent Witness.
