Daniel Zirilli dead at 58: He directed films and music videos such as Rolling Stones' Voodoo Lounge

Daniel Zirilli who directed action films and music videos such as Rolling Stones’ Voodoo Lounge, has died at 58.

Daniel Zirilli, a director of action films and music videos, has died at 58.  He directed over 200 music videos,including Rolling Stones’ ‘Voodoo Lounge.’ His death was announced by his family and a memorial service for him took place online. 

Daniel Zirilli, who was born on 13 November 1965 graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu and founded Popart Film Factory at the age of 24. During his career, he produced more than 85 films and wrote more than 30 feature films.

When it comes to his film direction, his movies include the 2016 film The Asian Connection which starred Steven Seagal and Michael Jae White. The year before, he also produced a film about the early days of Guns N’ Roses which was called ‘It’s So Easy and Other Lives. 

Daniel Zirilli’s other film credits include the 2019 movie Acceleration which starred the likes of Dolph Lundgren and the 2022 movie Renegades, which featured Patsy Kensit. His most recent work was on Invincible, which was shot on location in Thailand and was released in 2022. 

Daniel Zirlli also worked with artists such as Cypress Hill, Three 6 Mafia (featuring Katt Williams), Shaq, Montel Jordan and Bobby Womack when it came to directing and producing their music videos. 

According to Deadline, no cause of Daniel Zirlli’s death has been disclosed “but an Instagram message posted by his daughter Talise Zirilli last weekend indicated that he had been missing since April 24.” He is survived by daughter Talise, son Calian and parents, Diane Zirilli Buchta and Richard Buchta.
