Prince Harry turns 40 on 15 September and according to reports, he could be jetting off with close friends after first celebrating with his family in Montecito.

As Prince Harry celebrates turning 40 on 15 September, it will undoubtedly be a time of huge reflection for the Duke of Sussex. Only a decade before, his father King Charles, the then Prince of Wales lent him Clarence House for the evening for the celebrations.

It would be an understatement to say that a lot has changed in the last decade, the most obvious being that the Duke of Sussex is now not only a husband, but a father and now lives in Montecito, California, rather than in the UK.

According to The Sun, The Duke of Sussex is planning a trip away with friends after first celebrating his birthday at home with his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex and his family. It is likely that Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother, and a pivotal figure in their lives, will be joining them.

The Sun has reported that Prince Harry “ is set to enjoy a weekend getaway with a few of his closest mates." According to Hello! Magazine, the trip will be a  “weekend getaway in the mountains, surrounded by a handful of his closest friends.”

Ahead of his milestone 40th birthday, Prince Harry revealed to People magazine that “The best gift I've ever been given is, without doubt, my kids. I enjoy watching them grow every single day and love being their dad.”

Prince Harry recently returned to the UK for the funeral of his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, the husband of Lady Jane Fellowes, the sister of his late mother, Princess Diana. Prince William was also at the funeral, but according to reports, the brothers did not speak.
