Harry Kane has reached yet another goalscoring milestone in his career after Tottenham Hotspur beat Fulham 1-0 on Monday 23 January. The England striker scored what would be the only goal of the match in the 46th minute and this goal would not just secure three points for Antonio Conte’s side but would also level Kane’s impressive goal tally for his club with another Spurs legend, Jimmy Greaves.

The 29-year-old now has 266 goals for Spurs across all competitions, including 199 in the Premier League, and has netted his record-equalling goals after 415 games. Kane’s 199th Premier League goal (and 266 goal for Spurs overall) also came on his 300th appearance for his club. England’s skipper had originally been rejected by Arsenal and Watford but now Sky Sports pundit and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes “at the end of his career, he’ll go down as Tottenham’s greatest ever player.”

Former Spurs striker, Gary Lineker also lauded the England captain with praise, saying: “What an incredible achievement for Harry Kane to equal the great Jimmy Greaves as all-time top scorer fo Tottenham. And, yes, before you start, I know he’s not won anything. Also, that fact doesn’t make him any less of a footballer.”

Breakdown of Kane’s record

The majority of Kane’s goals have been scored in Premier League fixtures. He has played 300 Premier League matches for Spurs, scoring 199 goals. 21 goals have come from Champions League competitions while 18 have come from the Europa League. He has scored six Europa conference league goals as well as 15 FA Cup goals and seven League Cup goals.

164 of Kane’s goals have come from his right foot and 51 from the forward’s weaker side. 49 have been classed as headers while two have been noted as ‘other’. Additionally, 235 of the 29-year-old’s goals were scored inside the box, which include 39 penalties, and 31 from outside.

Kane is now just one goal away from joining Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney’s record of 200 Premier League goals and no doubt the Spurs talisman will hope to reach the Newcastle legend’s landmark of 260 goals.
