The Guiness Six Nations 2022 kicks off, with a feast of rugby on the way.

Ireland play Wales, England face Scotland, and France host Italy in the first round of matches, and many fans will have vested interests in all of those clashes - depending on who they’ve chosen for their fantasy XV side.

The game allows supporters to select a team of their own, comprised of players from all six nations and all while adhering to a strict budget, with real life talents picking up points in game depending on their performances.

Here’s everything you need to know about the first round of the competition Guiness Six Nations Fantasy Rugby 2022...

What is the team budget for Guiness Six Nations Fantasy Rugby?

Each participant starts with 205 stars to build their team.

Player values vary between just six stars for Wales’ James Ratti to a massive 19 stars for France captain and World Player of The Year Antoine Dupont.

Each player’s value will evolve throughout the tournament based on their performances, with participants able to buy and sell talents before each round of matches.

It’s worth remembering, however, that each team is only allowed four players from each nation, and must contain one full-back, two wingers, two centres, one fly-half, one scrum-half, three back-rows, two second-rows, two props, and one hooker.

When is the deadline for Round One of Guiness Six Nations Fantasy Rugby?

The final cut off point for selecting your first XV of the 2022 tournament will be at 2.15pm on Saturday February 5th.

With that in mind, we’ve picked out a few players who we think could really make a difference to anybody’s starting XV.

At just 13 stars, England full-back Freddie Steward could be a real bargain, especially if he can replicate his impressive form from last year’s autumn internationals. Maro Itaje also looks like a worthwhile investment at 18 stars.

France’s half-back duo of Romain Ntamack and Antoine Dupont are valued at 17 and 19 stars respectively, and are expected to have strong tournaments, but it could be winger Damian Penaud who really catches the eye.

Irish back Jordan Lamour looks like a savvy option at just 12 stars, as do front row talents Andrew Porter (12 stars), Ronan Kelleher (11 stars), and Tadgh Furlong (15 stars).

From Italy, the standout buy has to be Paolo Garbisi. The fly-half is valued at 12 stars, and has scored 159 points for his country across 26 international appearances.

In terms of Scottish options, last year’s highest-scoring scrum-half Ali Price is available again at just 13 stars, while teammate Cameron Redpath could be a bargain at 12 stars - provided he is fully fit.

And finally, Welsh prop Wyn Jones looks like a steal at 13 stars, the same price as lock compatriot Adam Beard.
