Paddington in Peru, the long awaited Studio Canal sequel about a loveable brown bear who is taken in by the Brown family, and changes their lives for the better, finally has a release date.

The first film hit cinemas in 2014 and the sequel, in which the bear is sent to prison, landed in 2017. The films grossed more than $500 million off an estimated $105 million budget, no mean feat for a family franchise.

It’s been a long wait since 2017, with little news of the bear’s adventures - though he did feature in a heartwarming short film with Queen Elizabeth II in June 2022 to mark the monarch’s platinum jubilee.

Sally Hawkins announced that she would not reprise her role as Mary Brown in the third film back in June of this year, and Hugh Grant’s involvement has not yet been confirmed, but we do now at least have a release date for Paddington in Peru.

When is the Paddington in Peru release date?

The release date for Paddington in Peru in the UK and US was confirmed yesterday (23 October).

The threequel will be released in cinemas in the UK on 8 November 2024, and in the US on 17 January 2025. This means that the third film is coming almost eight years after the first sequel hit cinemas in 2017.

Paddington in Peru will be released exclusively in cinemas and is not yet slated for a release on any streaming platform.

Is there a trailer for Paddington in Peru? 

A full trailer has not yet been released for Paddington in Peru, but a teaser has been shared. The 15 second clip gives almost nothing away about the new film, but it does share the official UK release date.

The first official trailers for the first two Paddington films were released around five months before the cinematic debut of each instalment. Therefore, an official trailer for Paddington in Peru is likely to land in June 2024.
