A Taylor Swift fan who saw the iconic singer perform on her Eras Tour has taken inspiration from the concert to create her own Halloween decorations.

Katelyn McLaughlin has created what she has dubbed a ‘ScarEras Tour’ in her front garden - and it includes several skeletons which have been dressed up in outfits inspired by those worn by the “Love Story” hitmaker during the show.

McLaughlin has shared videos of her unique decorations on her TikTok account, @WitchySwifty, so that fellow Swifites can see her creations and enjoy them. Unsurprisingly, giving Swift’s fame and the fact that the spookiest time of the year is just around the corner, the videos have gone viral.

McLaughlin, who lives in the United States, said she was prompted to create the display after attending one of Swift's concerts in June. She decided that she was going to somewhat recreate one of the sets from the concert  where several of Swift’s dancers wore memorable outfits made famous by the “Shake It Off” singer inside large glass boxes - albeit with a creepy twist. So, she gathered 12 plastic skeletons and then began making costumes to put on them all.

Speaking to Fox Digital News, McLaughlin said: "I couldn’t stop thinking about how good of an idea it was, and I started obsessing watching the videos from the show to figure out which outfits were in the cases. "Working on all of the [clothing] pieces that were going to be on these skeletons was a creative outlet for me in addition to being in love with Taylor Swift. It was a lot of fun."

Some of the outfits were made by McLaughlin, and others were bought. The links to Taylor Swift didn’t stop there either. Her friend added lights that blink to the beat of various Swift songs, and each skeleton was also given a blonde wig in the style of one of Swift’s many hairstyles during the concert. McLaughlin’s husband and children even helped to build the 12 boxes to house each of the Swiftie skeletons.

McLaughlin posted videos of the display onto TikTok and it’s been viewed by millions of people and gained thousands of comments of praise. US residents have even made a special trip to see it for themselves. She said many people stop to take their own photos, and she’s also been pleased to meet even more Swifties.

One video was humorously captioned with the rather fitting lyrics to Swift’s song “Look What You Made Me Do” - The old Taylor can't come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, 'cause she's dead.

"I have met so many people. I have made friendship bracelets and handed them to people who stop by," McLaughlin added, explaining that her reason for this is that Swifties have been exchanging similar bracelets at Eras Tour concerts.

McLaughlin has also been keen to get Swiftie’s involved with her display in any way they can, no matter where in the world they are. For example, she posted one video asking fans to leave comments suggesting songs that should be added to the lights show.

She told Fox Digital News that she would love it if Swift herself commented on her decorations, but she does appreciate that the star is always very busy. "I always joke that if she responded, I would lay down and pass away. It would be the most amazing thing if she reached out. If she saw it, I hope it made her smile."
