Music fans across the UK are preparing for one of the landmark festivals of the year with Reading and Leeds festivals.

The long awaited twin festival will take place simultaneously at Richfield Avenue in Reading and Branham Park in Leeds and will feature headline acts such as The Arctic Monkeys, Bring Me the Horizon, Dave, Megan Thee Stallion and The 1975. As well as a host of other acts.

When is the 2022 Reading and Leeds Festival?

The Reading and Leeds Festival will officially begin on Friday 26 August and will run until Sunday 28 August.

Main public access to the site for those camping at the festival starts on Thursday 25 August, however, those who have purchased early bird tickets will be able to begin setting up camp from Wednesday 24 August.

What is the weather forecast for Reading and Leeds festival?

The latest weather forecast from the Met Office suggests that the weather in both Reading and Leeds will mainly be dry over the weekend with sunny conditions expected for the majority of the festival.

This year has been one of the warmest summers on record in the UK and people attending the festival are advised to stock up on water and bring plenty of sun cream with them.

Full breakdown of the Met Office weather forecast for Reading

Thursday 25 August: The weather looks to be off to a good start for those arriving at the festival on Thursday with highs of 23 degrees and lows of 14 degrees. It will be largely dry throughout the day with a small chance of rain.

Friday 26 August: Friday is expected to follow a very similar outlook with temperatures peaking at 23 degrees and the lowest temperature being around 14 degrees. There is again a 10% chance of rain.

Saturday 27 August: At the midpoint of the festival fans can expect good weather with the temperature having highs of 23 degrees and eventually dropping down to around 13 degrees.

Sunday 28 August: The final day of the festival is expected to see the warmest conditions with temperatures peaking at 28 degrees with lows of around 14 degrees.

Full breakdown of the Met Office weather forecast for Leeds

Wednesday 24 August: According to the Met office the weather in Leeds will be mostly cloudy throughout the day, with the highest temperature reaching 21 degrees. It is expected to rain at around 7pm and this rain is expected to continue throughout the night.

Thursday 25 August:  There will be sunny spells throughout the day in Leeds, the weather is expected to peak at 22 degrees and the lowest is expected to be around 10 degrees.

Friday 26 August: When the festival kicks off the weather will primarily be warm throughout the day with temperatures peaking at 21 degrees and with lows of around 11 degrees.

Saturday 27 August:  The temperature is expected to rise to reach 21 degrees and there will be lows of around 11 degrees. It is expected to remain dry throughout the day.

Sunday 28 August: There will be sunny intervals and a light breeze during the day. The festival will close with temperatures peaking at 21 degrees with lows of around 11 degrees.
