Did Owen Warner date Lana from Love Island? Relationship explained, who is his ex, does he have a girlfriend

It’s not unusual for Love Island contestants to have dated some famous faces before making their way into the villa - winter Love Island winner Paige Turley dated Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi before appearing on the ITV dating show - and it’s no different for this year’s cast of singletons.

In a recent episode, islander Lana Jenkins revealed that she had a famous ex during a game of “Never Have I Ever”, and after some questioning from Ron Hall, she finally name dropped none other than Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner.

Who is Owen Warner?

Warner is an English actor best known for his role as Romeo Nightingale in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks. Warner joined the cast in 2018, with his character introduced as the long lost son of James Nightingale, played by Gregory Finnegan (Family Affairs, Doctors).

For his performance as Romeo on Hollyoaks, Warner won the Best Soap Newcomer Award at the 2018 Digital Spy Reader Awards.

He also recently appeared on the latest season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, and came in second place behind winner Jill Scott.

Warner’s other screen credits include acting in the short films Beverley and 20th Century Tribe, and appearing as himself on shows like Eating with My Ex and I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp.

The 23 year old was born in Leicester, Leicestershire, on 8 June 1999, and attended Gartree High School before enrolling at SMB College Group’s Melton Campus to study performing arts. He graduated from the college in 2017, and went on to study acting even further at the Actors Workshop Nottingham.

When did he date Lana from Love Island?

During an episode of Love Island, Lana Jenkins revealed that her most recent boyfriend was a celebrity. After a bit of questioning from fellow islander Ron Hall, Jenkins revealed that her ex was none other than Warner.

In response, Hall joked: “So basically I’m competing with someone who’s just come runner-up on a massive show [I’m a Celeb] and an actor, and I work in finance. Yeah, sick. This is great.”

As a professional makeup artist, Jenkins has done makeup for the likes of Michelle Keegan, George Ezra and James Arthur, and is friends with many of the Hollyoaks cast - she and Warner met via mutual friends.

In a since deleted Instagram post, Jenkins posted a picture of them looking very cosy together in June 2020. Jenkins told Hall that she and Warner had had a “bit of a lockdown relationship”, with the two dating for nine months before calling it quits.

Of the breakup, Jenkins said: “We ended amicably so I have nothing bad to say about our relationship and the time we spent together.”

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Jenkins said that she didn’t expect Warner to tune into Love Island.

She said: “I don’t know what he’ll think but I hope he’ll be supportive. He probably won’t want it because I wouldn’t watch it if he was on there, but hopefully he’ll be supportive of it.”

Who else has he dated in the past?

Between 2018 and 2019, Warner dated his Hollyoaks co-star Stephanie Davis. Their on-set friendship turned into romance which was confirmed on social media, with the two even sparking engagement rumours at one point after Warner described Davis as his “wife” in an Instagram post.

However, after nine months Warner and Davis split up, with Davis taking a short break from Hollyoaks before quitting the series altogether.

Following his relationship with Jenkins, Warner then dated The Apprentice star Camilla Ainsworth, with the two confirming the romance at the start of 2021, although it wasn’t long before they stopped dating.

A source told the Sun: “Owen and Camilla have quietly split and aren’t dating any longer. When they first met they got on like a house on fire and it seemed to be going really well. But recently they had been arguing and decided they should part ways.

“It was nothing dramatic and was very much mutual. Owen and Camilla both wish each other well. It just didn’t work out.”

Later in 2021, Warner and Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry then started dating, with Ferry posting a selfie of the two of them on Instagram.

She said: “I’ve been seeing Owen for a very long time now… we’ve just kept it secret because I feel like when it’s in the public eye it doesn’t always go right, does it?”

Warner and Ferry only dated for a few months before they then split up.

Regarding the breakup, Ferry told the Sun: “I have enjoyed Owen’s company and we had a really good holiday together. It’s the right person, but the wrong time. I think the world of Owen and we will remain on good terms.”

Does he have a girlfriend now?

Warner does not currently appear to have a girlfriend - if he is dating someone, it looks like he has decided to keep it out of the spotlight for now.
