On the one-month anniversary of the death of Emilie Kiser's son Trigg, will the influencer return to social media?
Today marks one month since the death of influencer Emilie Kiser’s three-year-old son Trigg.
Next month will also mark what would have been the little boy’s fourth birthday, Monday July 14, which is sure to be a difficult date for all who knew him. Trigg, was involved in an accident on Monday May 12 in the swimming pool at the Kiser’s home near Gilbert and Riggs roads in Chandler, Arizona, United States. He was rushed to hospital later the same day in a critical condition, but he died on Sunday May 18.
Trigg was the eldest child of 26-year-old mum influencer Emilie and her husband Brady, who have been married since 2019. His sudden and untimely death came less than two months after Emilie gave birth to the couple’s second child - a son called Teddy, who was born at the end of March.
Hours before the accident, Emilie had shared a TikTok video which showed her Monday morning routine. The clip was a montage of all the main things she did between 6am and almost 1pm. Her last Instagram post came the day before the accident and was a carousel of images of herself and her family looking happy. One of the photos shows Brady cuddling both his sons in bed.
Tragically, the accident also came the day after Mother’s Day in the US, (Sunday May 11). On that morning, Emilie had posted a “Get Ready With Me” video on TikTok, where she said how happy she was to be celebrating her first Mother’s Day as a mum-of-two. She also said how much she was looking forward to having more pool days.
In the video Emilie, who frequently included her husband and her two sons in her videos and photos, said: “I seriously cannot believe that this Mother’s Day I have two kids, not only two kids - two boys. If you had told me that when I was younger I would have never believed you. Being a mum is truly the most amazing thing while also simultaneously being scary, terrifying, hard, beautiful, amazing . . . literally, all the emotions in one. [I’m] just so grateful to be a mum”.

The little boy’s death was confirmed by Chandler Police Department the day after his passing. The department told US Weekly: “The investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident remain ongoing.”
Then, last month, the grieving mum filed a lawsuit in an effort to keep details of Trigg’s accident private and out of the public domain. Her lawyer said this was necessary as the news of the little boy’s accidental death had sparked a “media frenzy”. She also filed a personal declaration about her grief and trauma at the same time as the lawsuit, dated Tuesday May 27.
On Wednesday June 3, the court granted the social media star temporary confidentiality on her larger request for privacy. They also ruled to keep that declaration sealed until they rule on the larger privacy issue.

On the day of the accident, officers reportedly attended the Kiser home after receiving a distress call and found Trigg unconscious. They performed CPR on him immediately. Chandler Fire Department personnel then arrived and took over his care . They first took Trigg to Chandler Regional Hospital and he was then airlifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
While at the scene, investigators reportedly noticed two outdoor cameras in the garden which could have captured what happened, according to the search warrant requests which were filed in Maricopa County Superior Court on May 13, as reported by Arizona Republic.
According to police records, Brady told officers that he and his two young sons were the only ones home at the time of the accident and Emilie was out with friends, also reported by the publication. Investigators in the search warrants said they wanted to obtain the video surveillance so they could corroborate Brady’s statement.

The lawsuit filed by Emilie stated that she did not want to see the footage of Trigg’s accident herself, along with any other records police may hold - which could include police body camera footage, scene photos, 911 calls and the autopsy report, - as this may reveal "graphic, distressing and intimate details" of Trigg's death.
Emilie has more than one million followers on Instagram and three million followers on TikTok. Her bio reads: “Just sharing my life + what makes me happy”. In the month since her son’s death Emilie has not posted on any of her social media pages. She has also disabled comments on her previous posts, meanwhile Brady has made his pages private. The couple have not released an official statement about their son’s death.
Many of Emilie and Brady’s loved ones have also remained silent including her sisters Alexa, Meghan and Maddie. Emilie’s best friend, fellow influencer Avery Woods, quietly returned to social media earlier this month and fans noticed she had included a tribute to the little boy. However, her post seemed to have been deleted shortly after she posted it.
In the days that followed Trigg’s accident, many of Emilie’s fans sent her well-wishes and wrote tributes to Trigg online. In the month that has now passed since the tot’s death, a lot of people have continued to question whether or not the star will return to social media at all. This is particularly the case as the money Emilie makes from her posts appears to be the family’s main source of income. There’s still no way to know whether or not Emilie will post again on TikTok or Instagram, however, or if she does when that will be.
The case regarding Emilie’s lawsuit is still going through the courts and the police investigation is on-going with no time frame of when either will finish. A lawyer for the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner told Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Christopher Whitten that reports are normally completed within 90 days. Meanwhile, a lawyer for Chandler said she did not know when the police report would be complete, as reported by Arizona Republic.
The fact that Emilie has filed the lawsuit would suggest she does not want to speak publicly about her loss, which in turn suggests that she may not return to social media at all, but only time will tell.
